Scott J Silverman
Mr. Silverman is a native of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. He is a 1990 graduate of Brandeis University and a 1993 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Silverman was admitted to the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, served as Treasurer of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society and as a moot court judge.
Prior to joining Nagle & Zaller, Mr. Silverman practiced law from 1994 to 2001 with a Maryland community association firm, where he worked as an associate and was later named partner. Subsequent to his tenure with that firm, Mr. Silverman served as Vice President and General Counsel for a family-owned general contracting firm, specializing in commercial construction throughout Maryland, Virginia and D.C. He concurrently engaged in the practice of law as a sole practitioner, representing individuals and small businesses.
Mr. Silverman represents clients in the areas of community association law, construction law, civil litigation, real estate, zoning/land use, corporate law, contracts, commercial law, administrative law and creditors' rights/collections.
Mr. Silverman is admitted to the practice of law before the courts of Maryland, the District of Columbia, the State of New York, and the Federal District Court of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Bar Association and has served as a volunteer judge in moot court and client counseling competitions for George Mason University Law School.
Mr. Silverman's billing rate is $300.00 per hour, but his discounted rate for community association clients is $250.00 per hour.
